At that point, concrete driveway replacement cost is not just a square-foot question. It is a site-work, drainage, access, demolition, and installation question. The concrete is the visible part of the job. The work underneath it determines whether the new driveway stays flat and functional.

For homeowners in Orange County, California, and Mohave County, Arizona, pricing can vary substantially between two driveways with the same dimensions. A clear scope of work matters more than chasing the lowest number on a proposal.

What You Are Actually Paying For

A proper remove-and-replace driveway project starts before the first truck arrives with fresh concrete. Existing concrete needs to be saw cut where required, broken out, loaded, and hauled away. The exposed area then needs to be evaluated for soft spots, poor drainage, roots, utility conflicts, and failed base material.

After demolition, the contractor rebuilds the section from the ground up. For example, a 700-square-foot driveway may look like a simple project on paper.
